About Us

Sterling Risk Management, Inc. was founded in 1997 by John Howard and Tim Snape in order to provide an efficient, uncomplicated and friendly way for agents and brokers to access the sometimes mysterious world of the aviation insurance market.

Both John and Tim started their careers in the London market, handling aviation risks placed in Lloyd’s and with the London insurance companies.  Both worked on major aerospace accounts worldwide, before later moving to the United States and working at various wholesale and retail aviation insurance operations.

John is President and Owner of Sterling Risk Management and Tim is senior Vice President being responsible for brokerage operations.  Between them John and Tim have 80 years of aviation insurance experience. In 2004, they were joined by Paul Jerosimic, who works closely with John and Tim in all facets of the business.

The aviation market does not use the “boiler-plate” style applications that are common in the regular property/casualty area. A selection of application are available at the link above, along with a brief explanation of their use.

We want you to have the correct forms from the start so you don’t have to put your client or yourself through unnecessary work.
